A lot of people I have spoken to are surprised by the process of making signs, so I thought I would share a little about how signs are made.
What we do at Wilson Signs and Graphics is more closely akin to an assembly production rather than a manufacturing production. Our materials arrive at our shop in the form of rolls of vinyl and sheets of plastic, metal and foam composites. We are careful about what substrates and vinyl we use, ensuring that we are using top-notch materials.
The first step in our production is design. We use a software that is specifically built for designing signs to create stunning graphics for your signs, vehicles or windows. To make sure our designs match the customer's ideas, we always send our clients mockups that can be altered before we start printing.
Once the artwork is approved, we get started on printing the design. At Wilson Signs and Graphics, we have different vinyl for different occasions. We have indoor vinyl, outdoor vinyl, static cling vinyl, and perforated vinyl (that can be applied to a window to see out and not see in). We use our expertise to make sure your job is fitted with the correct vinyl. We put the roll of vinyl through our printer and the printer heads move back and forth, releasing a combination of cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink onto the vinyl in order to produce colorful prints.
If the vinyl is going to be exposed to outdoor elements, we laminate the vinyl with a clear film. If it is an indoor or temporary sign, we often do not because this would be an unnecessary cost for the client.
Lastly, we remove the backing paper from the adhesive vinyl and adhere it either to one of our substrates, or your vehicle or window space, making sure to eliminate bubbles or wrinkles in the vinyl.
And that's how Wilson Signs and Graphics makes amazing signs for your businesses and events. Let us know how you liked this blog post below. Thanks for reading. Bye!
